Hey,

I'm going to the Gold Coast near the end of July, so I'm wanting info on things to do, places to go! It's an anniversary thing with my other half so it can't all be beer, but I'm sure I'll be able to do some beer related stuff.

Suggestions?

Check out Dukes brewing, ive heard its good
www.burleighbrewing.com/

Sounds like a good place to visit, but where is it?? I couldn't find the info on their site

Q1 building is worth a look, think its about $16 to go up. Pink Poodle is just down the road they have 50 different beers.

definitely do dukes, 10 bucks gets you in, the tour and 3 beers in a glass you can keep. after the tour the bar stays open for another hour or so.
i went their 2 weeks or so ago, will defiantly be back

Yup, make sure you check out Burleigh Brewing Co. ala "Duke" ... and around that time we should be opening up here at MT Brewery at Mount Tamborine ... craft beer & craft cheese in the one location. .... oh yeah ... Mt Tamborine is about 30 min from Surfers Paradise

What is the latest news on the Mt Tamborine brewery? When will it open?

Sorry, maybe that should be a new topic

Cheers,

Wrenny

I can vouch for the cheese at Mt Tambourine... have been a regular customer there for ages... and their yoghurt is great too. The icecream is good, but the flavours are regularly a bit whacky... call me boring, but I love a good vanilla icecream. It's a great drive up the mountain whichever side you're coming from, but you always get stuck behind some slow loser on the way back down.

The Dan Murphy's on the coast has a fairly good range, but it's not walking distance from Surfers. The Pink Poodle houses the "Beers from Belgium" cafe, which does some great food too.

I'll be flying there so I won't have a car, so if I go I'll need to find a bus of some sort that goes there

That sounds like a plan to me. Does the offer extend to me too?

Actually, Rossco's been filling me in on some of the updates. I'd love to have a quick tour sometime.

ME TOO!

ok so just got an email from dukes, they have changed things up a bit:
Burleigh Brewing Company would like to invite you to Put Up Your Dukes at a new time .. weve heard your requests for more kick back time at the brewery and so, due to popular demand, were now opening our Brewery Lounge Bar every Saturday from 2.00-6.00pm. Come in and join us for a real fresh, all-natural premium Duke. Bar snacks are available, or if youd prefer, pack your own snack or gourmet picnic and enjoy it at our German Drinking table or on one of our comfy couches. And girls, Burleigh Brewing Company is not a males only affair. We invite you to come and enjoy the ambience of the Brewery Lounge and a yummy Daisy Duke from our bar.

Thats not the only change the Duke has made. Our Tanks, Tales and Tastings sessions have moved to the third Monday evening of every month, with the first one kicking off on Monday 19 May. Bookings are essential call us on 5593 6000 or visit www.burleighbrewing.com. The Tanks, Tales and Tastings sessions include a 45 minute beer and brewing appreciation session with our brewmaster, a tour of the facility, a glass of each of our beers and a logod glass to take home with you all for just $10! Following the session the bar opens and you are welcome to hang around and put up some Dukes in the comfort of the Brewery Lounge.

But wait, the Duke hasnt stopped there! Our Brewhouse Parties have now become a regular feature on our Brewery Lounge calendar, so mark your diary for the first Friday night of every month. Join us on Friday 2 May from 5.00-8.30pm - youll be able to enjoy our real fresh beers in the Brewery Lounge and German Sausages around the BBQ with all BBQ proceeds going to local charities and community groups. Speaking of which, let us know if youre involved with a great local cause that would like to partner with us for one of these great nights.

We look forward to seeing you at a Brewery Lounge event soon and in the mean time . Put up your Dukes . Cheers

Where about's are you staying P&C as that will make a difference as to where you're able to get to.

If you're at Surfer's then Burleigh Brewing is about 15-20 minutes drive and the only place I know of would be (as others have mentioned) The Pink Poodle aka the Belgian Beer Bar. Just at the South end of Surfer's (or the North end of Broadbeach) on the main highway.

Have a good time.

Cheers,

Just read your question properly - Again though location is dependent. In Surfer's the Ripleys Museum is cool. The wax museum is handy but I've not been so can't personally recommend. Infinity is good for a laugh/healthy scare. Down at Broadbeach is Dracula's which has been recommended to me by everyone I know who's been there. There are buses going to all the major amusement parks (Movie/Sea/Dream World etc) if that's to your taste.

Again, have a good time.

Cheers,

microbe have you been into surfers latley? theirs a hole the size of a crater were ripleys was, make way for the new hilton hotel. teh whole raptus plaza and dolphin arcade were leveled for redevelopment.

pink poodle does have a great variety of import brews, however it is a bit pricey and the staff are usually wankers with fake accents
