+1 Beautifully articulated. I always get the feeling i'm in trouble when I brew or do anything brew related. Come back up stairs and all is fine... verry suspicious.
She doesn't drink beer and everytime I ask her to take a sample she puckers her face and says, 'It tastes like VB!' ...with a wry smile. She knows how to get under my skin.

Yes ... definantly ... she got me started with a Coopers kit 3 Christmas's ago ... let me use the kitchen until I went AG ... helped me plan the brewery and bar ... drinks more than her fair share ... and as long as there's always a hoppy ale or pils on tap she's happy. Which leaves all the wheaties and belgians for me!

But there's more ... insisted I buy extra kegs so that there was always beer maturing and lagering ... insisted I spend the extra on Weyerman's Pilsner Malt (for her pils) ... says she can taste the difference between a bitter made on Baird's Maris Otter and one made on the Floor Roasted variety (dammed if I could) ... and rings me at work to let me know she's turned the air con on in the brewery because the fermenters were getting a little warm.

I am a blessed man ...

She is 100% supportive of my hobby, I think is is quite glad I have one.

Actually my wife is not only supportive, i'm realising she has pretty good taste in beer. She even loves a good IPA. She would drink more if it didn't affect her weight, but she's always up for a taste and comment.

I tell you what - it makes a hell of a difference when she's supportive.

I only have one and technically she's not my wife but we've been together close to 11 years. I would say we both understand each other around 80-90%. To stay together you need surprises and growth so that 10-20% should hopefully remain reasonably constant.
