Howdy

Doing a bit of a cupboard cleanout brew and I've put this Single Malt Single Hop (SMaSH) together:

23 Litres
1.053/1.013
30 IBU's
mash @ 67
Danstar Nottingham

5.5kg Munich
56g Hallertauer (4.1%AA, Plugs) @ 60min
15g Hallertauer (5.7%AA, Pellets) @ 5min
15g Hallertauer (5.7%AA, Pellets) @ 0min
Whirfloc @ 15

How does that sound? Any suggestions or tweaks?

Cheers guys

Jim

i recko if you lowered the ibu's a tad and used a lager yeast you'd have a good bock or oktoberfest

yeah sounds like a quasi oktoberfest... which is normally a lager

it you don't to do a lager, keep the nottingham low, around 13-14C and you should get a very clean result

bitterness is bit high for me but should work ok if you like a bit of hop-bite

hallertauer is one of my fave hops, i would up the last additions to really bring out the flavour/aroma

Sounds good guys

So I've reduced the IBU's to about 22 (according to beersmith) and upped the late additions to 20g @ 5 and 20g @ 0. Do you reckon thats enough or up the late additions more?
