Thanks for the input. Following some of what was written, had a look at the freezer rather than the fridge. Thermostat was turned to the coldest setting. Have turned it back a bit and all seems much happier. Still not convinced it's not a dodgy thermostat but will keep an eye on it over the coming weeks...
