You can cut the top of the stem off and in losing that the plant will begin to throw lateral shoots which bear most of the flowers.
I've been pondering this for a while Adamski, is it similar in principle to 'dead heading' roses where nipping the tip off the bine causes it to throw it's energy into concentrating on cone develop rather than bine development?
Do the side shoots need something to hang on to?
I'm thinking I will just leave it and hopefully the plant put it's energy into side shoots.
Just started thinking whether it might be good to do this deliberatelyYou can cut the top of the stem off and in losing that the plant will begin to

Just started thinking whether it might be good to do this deliberately
to get lots of laterals happening. It looks like I'll probably have 3-6
bines climbing up 3-4 sisal strings I've got around each pot.
Thinking maybe cut the apical head off the first bine to go up a string
at say a foot above the soil and let that go its way, then the next
bine that climbs on that string top it off at 2 feet off the soil, the
next bine topped at 3 feet and so on - ought to make it pretty
bushy.
