Hi Chaps,

I was wondering if anyone has run their brew thru a hop randal / torpedo then straight into bottles?

I was thinking of using a setup like this...

Or would it not add much flavor?

Not sure about pre-bottling but damn that would work well out of the kettle with a few screens.

Out of interest towards my own hop rocket build, have you sourced any SS screen/mesh yet?

would termimesh be too fine? The agents get a lot of offcuts. It is quite rigid though.

second pic shows the filter disc in place, you cant see the 2in filter dis, but its in there! :)

A thing of beauty. What's the diameter of the discs?

@Glot - haven't researched termi mesh. Is it SS?

discs are 2in and 4in

can be purchased locally.

Disclaimer = I do CAD drawings for Still Dragon but have no financial interest.

So, slightly back on topic, no benifit at bottling time, how about pumping hot worth thru it on its way to the fermenter? Would that be like a 0 min addition?

Here's a thread on the Blichmann hoprocket if you need some ideas.
I need to go and take some measurements. Cheers for the link.

Termimesh is a very fine stainless steel woven mesh used by pest controllers to create a non chemical barrier against termites. They bury it around the perimeter of the building. It is quite stiff and very fine. If you either head to a new housing estate or make contact with an installer, they throw a lot of offcuts into the scrap. The Termimesh site has some pics. Have considered making a hop basket also.

I run the hopedo and shotgun cooler with plain water and a little brown pump, took 10mins of recirculating to drop from 90c to 30c, is that ok?

This will require some different hop schedules, maybe 10min hop additions all in the hopedo during recirculating, a big bonus I think is the airerating that is going on during this.

Requires more play :)

I ran this on the weekend.

Not perfect setup, but works well!

What temp did you get to over what time frame?

90 down to ~25c in 20min.

I found as the wort got cooler the temp drop was slower.

Can you make a triple row setup for cooling, Instead of that single length have three of them parallel? Wort in top hot put the bottom cooled?
