I tink that Little Creatures was first released around 2000,it was then, and still is, an outstanding beer, backed with a very clever name and some great marketing.
Apart from the bottled version though it is not terribly accessible.
Even in Canbeera it has only been available on tap at perhaps two venues and ATM so far as I know only one, but consider then that other Eastern Capitropolis..Sydney..how many taps there ?
Then there is Alpha Ale..just a wonderfull explosion of hops..I have never tried a bottled version but all that I ahve had on tap (from places more than one) have been sensational and my thirst then being made insatiable.
Do, MollyLike, yourself a flavour !

On way through to Canberra from coast found a six pack of LCPA at Bungendore (obviously for the yuppies). My first taste. Interesting. I enjoyed one, my Carlton Cold friend in back seat thought it tasted like **** .. ignorant fool tipped half out. At $3,50 a stubby !! Drinking my second while typing this .. still can't get over the passionfruit taste at back of palate. Interesting. I don't think I could drink this stuff in a session, as an occasional treat ... yer, okay. But still not overly rapt.

Is this an example of lambic beer style flavours or is that something else ? (that's right, never had a Belgium lambic before either ! I gotta get a life !!

I just got back from Parkes (central NSW). It was a warm day there on Sunday so I figured that a wheat beer would go down well. I asked the guy at the bottle shop if he had any and his response was "Where in hell are you guys from?"!!!

Has he heard of the exciting new(?) local Zierholz brews?

Work took me to Canberra recently and I was holed up in Deakin. The saviour was the Croatian Soccer Club. Rump steaks (as in plural - 2 to a plate!) for $6.50 and schooners (425 ml) of loverly Zierholz Kolsch for around $4!!

I have a training course in the capital in November - guess where I am staying :D ??

Edit: Apologies to any Canberra brewers who live in Deakin

Well I learned something on the weekend - whilst having some mates round to sample some beers

Apparently wheat beers come exclusively from western australia - they are really big over there

Wasn't in the mood to disagree :)

Cheers

Edit: spuling

I've been told by barstaff that Pale Ale was invented by Coopers, so another great SA invention

Don't forget that "You should roll bottles of Little Creatures Pale Ale, because its a Pale Ale."
