Much better out of the bright tanks at the brewery especially when served by a cute female creature and it's a fresh batch, as with all beers the closer to source you drink it the better!

Amen to that!

for fecks sake!....I am from Canberra, he is from Canberra

LOL sorry mate I only saw the "Sydney" bit.
That really is funny then. You can slap me around the head for not reading at the Canberra Brewers club meeting this evening if you are going.

Does anyone know of LCPA on tap in Sydney?

I have a recollection of it on tap at, what I think was the Art House pub, in Pitt St, just up from the Hilton.
There are a few interesting beers on tap there.

it was on tap at the rose in chippo but has been replaced by that barons black wattle. u can still buy lcpa in (pint) bottles. the bright ale is on tap at a few places.

It was on tap at the Harlequin in Pyrmont, however they're doing renovations and LCPA seems to have been replaced by Baron's lager. Boo. I hope they bring it back.

mmm this is making me want some lcpa too... u sure your not workin for em? :p

Yes, careful man. Down here in God's waiting room, the locals got excited when Carlton Blonde came out !
...

To make it worse, Postmodern is going to a international beer tasting event tonight on my ticket cos I had to pull out because of family commitments (maybe if I had pulled out earlier, I mightn't have had a family)

Your locals would have loved the beer event last night. Lots of Dry beers, imported yawn lagers. We did drink them out of Knappstein, tho. The Speights Ale was OK. Also repeat tasted many of the MSB range. The "mystery beer" was XXXX Gold, I think. The rep dishing it out was surprised when I said it was flavourless, bland beer and asked if it was TED. :) Heh, anyway, the beer geeks who went had a great time educating the bar staff (the chick pouring Knappstein had no idea how to pour a beer) and generally saying how much better our HB is. All the while getting a skinful :D

I've noticed that with an APA the hops and floral notes drop quite quickly with age.
2 - 4 weeks out and it tastes very different from fresh.

I'm guessing the bottle age is at least that. I'd love to try in when it's fresh.
anyone?

The Clocktower, The Australian, Equilibrium... maybe a few others.

Yep, still on tap at the Australian. My first taste of LC was jugs of the stuff while watching the last rugby world cup.
I think they have a croc pizza as well, not a bad combo. ;)

for fecks sake!....I am from Canberra, he is from Canberra, he brews his own beer, ive been drinking with him at the wig n pen, we've talked for hours about beer. I just thought it was funny that it hadnt come up in previous conversations when talking about our home brewed beer, commercial beer and micro brewery beers....

That's it, go Tiger !!!

Edit: Oops, should have read the rest of the thread before jumping to the "reply" button!

Little Creatures Pale Ale is what I've always taken it to mean.

cheers,

I tink that Little Creatures was first released around 2000,it was then, and still is, an outstanding beer, backed with a very clever name and some great marketing.
Apart from the bottled version though it is not terribly accessible.
Even in Canbeera it has only been available on tap at perhaps two venues and ATM so far as I know only one, but consider then that other Eastern Capitropolis..Sydney..how many taps there ?
Then there is Alpha Ale..just a wonderfull explosion of hops..I have never tried a bottled version but all that I ahve had on tap (from places more than one) have been sensational and my thirst then being made insatiable.
Do, MollyLike, yourself a flavour !
