gotta share this one....just chatting with a bloke here at work who is also a brewer. Mainly 3kg ESB tins and Fresh worts. He told me he went to Sydney on Monday and went to a pub and found this brand new beer that was to die for. I asked "oh yeah, what was it?" He replied excitedly "Its called Little Creatures Pale Ale, apparently from Perth, have you tried it"? I nearly fell off me chair laughing. He doesnt get out much.
Cheers

Steve I know Canberra is not the greatest city in the world for beerlovers, but LCPA does sound pretty exotic for some of us who live where we have a choice of both types of beer: VB or New.

where does he find the space to homebrew wort kits living under that rock of his??? :p

Better hope he's not an AHB member/lurker ;)

I've never found LCPA to be much of a show stopper. I've only ever had it bottled, though. Is there a draught version? Us Hobartians don't get much variety either.

Moo Brew Pale Ale, however.... yummm...

Yes, very nice on tap!

Moo Brew, mmmm...... It is also on tap in some places, but unfortunately, not in Victoria, yet.

Much better out of the bright tanks at the brewery especially when served by a cute female creature and it's a fresh batch, as with all beers the closer to source you drink it the better!

This is the truth!

Yes, careful man. Down here in God's waiting room, the locals got excited when Carlton Blonde came out !

I've visited the Little Creatures web site and read various threads here, but frankly, I've never seen a bottle of LCPA let alone drink one. If John Singleton wasn't all but giving away Bluetongue Lager, I'd wouldn't have tasted a beer at a club that wasn't New or Old. To make it worse, Postmodern is going to a international beer tasting event tonight on my ticket cos I had to pull out because of family commitments (maybe if I had pulled out earlier, I mightn't have had a family)

So any way, pity the fool who hasn't, more pity the fool who mocks him !

I apologise to all who have not seen, drunk or heard of LCPA. No offence intended.

Stop being such a woosy, man. (Next to) no one knows who you are .. bag him out !!!

That Boddington (?) can you use for your avatar - does that mean you drink the stuff ? Got a six pack for Father's Day. Apart from Kilkenny and a Bass I had years ago, I've never drunk any English beer. Will get there one day. Is Boddingtons a good example of English ales ? Or is it the VB of England ??

I think the funny bit was that he was from "Sydney" and had never heard of LCPA before.

Having said that most people I work with have never heard of it either and a number if them are into the nicer beers (Zierholz ;) , et al).

Canberra has an awesome range of most beers available in most places these days (a far cry from when I first got here 11 years ago, it was ********* back then).

Even with the large range available here most people would not have a clue about 1 beer from a "little" Freo brewery.

for fecks sake!....I am from Canberra, he is from Canberra, he brews his own beer, ive been drinking with him at the wig n pen, we've talked for hours about beer. I just thought it was funny that it hadnt come up in previous conversations when talking about our home brewed beer, commercial beer and micro brewery beers....

I don't think apologies are required Steve, slaps around the back of the head should be the order of the day.

What cracked me up was when reviewing LCPA Beer Advocate Magazine http://beeradvocate.com/
described it as most peoples "Go to" beer implying it was freely available in most pubs, I think when they were here they were taken to pubs that had it on tap because its notoriously difficult to find on tap. B)

Glad you started this thread Steve? :p

I knew what you were trying to say. ;)

Does anyone know of LCPA on tap in Sydney?

I've noticed that with an APA the hops and floral notes drop quite quickly with age.
2 - 4 weeks out and it tastes very different from fresh.

I'm guessing the bottle age is at least that. I'd love to try in when it's fresh.

anyone?
