Screwy, this time well not gonna go north Queensland, too often weve been there. Im not yet sure if well find time to visit our rellies in Mackay, maybe not. What we wanna do, if the time allows us: Perth-Margaret River-Albany-Esperance-Eucla-Ceduna-Port Lincoln-Adalaide-East Coast. Doing by car and Motel.

So the places to visit are depending on the remaining time we have.
The experience Ive made in Australia is, everything comes different than youve planned ;)

But there are a few places in Queensland Id really like to go. So surely well be in Qld for a couple of days.
One of that places could be the Pub with no beer and up the coast to Brissie (Ross place).

As soon as I know more precise where to be, I`ll let you know via PM, hopefully there will not be any cyclone this year that destroyes our plannings.

btw. last holiday Ive droven 12800km within 6 weeks, even weve been stopped in Townsville due to a cyclone and had a one week stay with our rellies, thats no problem at all, so with a good car, Australia is not very large

Cheers

All good Zwickel, your plans look good, a great way to recover after the drive across the Nullarbour is to hang around Streaky Bay and Coffin Bay for a while and live on the huge oysters from the area. Couple of new brewpubs in SA now, the Steam Exchange at Goolwa and the Lobethal Bierhaus in the hills not far from Adelaide (buy a Growler to take home for bottling your home brew).

Many tourists to Australia find the distances to be very daunting, but you seem to take it in your stride. Hopefully the Slycoon Season will have passed when you visit this year.

I live on the Sunshine Coast, 1 hour drive North of Brisbane and would like to catch up for beers when you are nearby.

I see, maybe after the trip Ill need a liver transplant ;)

Zwickel,
There are 5638 members on this forum and they all want a drink with you. I reckon you will have to replace most of your body!

I'm happy to report that Mr and Mrs Zwickle are in the country and they dropped in on Kooks brewday - it was great to meet them both !

I think we might have shocked Zwickle a bit in terms of the processes employed on the day and the resultant gravities, but he was polite enough to not make any comments :)

Don't know if you'll get a chance to read this forum while you are here Zwickle, but I hope the rest of your trip is enjoyable and we look forward to the next time you are out this way.

....Australia, Im coming

25. of Jan. Ill arrive in Perth.
Some hints for places of interest are highly appreciated, I mean beer related places of course, others Ive more time to find ;)
Ill stay a couple of days in Perth before doing a roundtrip, get adapted to the weather, the beer and everything else.

So, if you could give me some hints where to get a nice beer, microbreweries preferred, would be a great gesture.

Cheers mates :icon_cheers:

hi Zwickel, when are you coming through Margaret River?
will sent PM with ph number, give me a buzz if you want to see a few places,

cheers ,amita

Zwickel - only just realised that you were here in Perth thanks to Neville!

Please let me know when you are ready to do the Fremantle day/evening/night out. There's several brewers close to Fremantle and I'm dying to have a few beers with you.

Hopefully Neville knows how to contact you otherwise I'm hoping you catch this post.

All the best,
Pat

howdy brewers of the sunny side of the world ;)

thanks a lot for the warm welcome here.
A special thanks to the "West Coast Brewers" we met at Kooks place, to Gryphon Brewing for the great BBQ at hes home and a very special thanks to Whistling Jack for hes great hospitality.
Unfortunately we cannot take all the very kind invitations we got, too many nice people and too less time :)

Anyway, we have to leave from Perth at 2. of March, so well be around Perth again and weve another chance to meet again.

Thanks again, I wish you "allzeit gut Sud"

Cheers :icon_cheers:

Am meeting Zwickel for a beer tomorrow at the Sail and Anchor. Started a new thread here with the details just in case the "Going West," heading slipped by anyone.

Hope a few of you can make it. See you then :icon_cheers:
