hi,
i am new to the forums.. been reading alot ...
what effect would frustose have on the wort instead of using maltose... or even using half maltose and half fructose?
or even if i put in the bottles instead of sugar or those carbonation drops?

thanks in advance fellas

fructose acts in a similar manner to dextrose, it ferments out almost completely. So fructose doesn't do much for a brew, but fruit has plenty of other flavour compounds to add. If you are wanting fruit flavours toa beer, it's best to add them in secondary. I'm not sure about priming with fruit sugars, never done it.

Have a chat to MercsOwn, he makes quite a few fruit beers.

thanks for replying.
i work for an ingredients company.. we have fructose in a crystalized form.. by the sounds of it it will burn out really quickly..
