I just scored a fisher & paykel fridge from a workmate who has moved houses :p fridge works fine except for the light in main fridge. is their spose to be a light in the freezer as well ?

anyway, i think the globe is behind the thermo in the main part. but i cant tell if its screw in or bayonet or ... it wont budge and as its facing the back, i cant see it. my mate reckons the light was working before moving, so im assuming the bulb broke in transit. anyone else replaced the light / bulb & know how its done ?

cheers

The last one I replaced was a bayonet fitting.

Why don't you use a hand mirror to see the fitting?

Fridge globes come 4 sizes - Large and Small in both bayonet and Screw type.

To make sure you get the right one, you should be able to pop the light surround off with out too much trouble and reach in there to remove it, take it into an electrical/whitegoods place and they should have a replacement.

Try a bit of WD40 or CRC redbeard. Unplug the fridge obviously (the bulb is live otherwise), give it a squirt and a bit of a wiggle. Once you can get it to wiggle you should be able work out whether it's a screw or a bayonet.
