Hey guys, ive got a fridgemate which i want to get the thermo probe through the fridge side rather than the door.

has anybody got experience with drilling into freezers? The model is a westinghouse silhouette 2 upright 380ltr freezer.

im afraid im going to drill through some important line and i cant find a manual because the freezer is close to 20 years old.

one hint would be that it has external elements on the back like the old style of fridge freezers.

does anyone have any hints? the hole only has to be 5-7mm wide.

Yeah this thread may be of some help: Linky

In particular:

"For the Gas line into the fridge, I drilled a hole from the inside of the fridge through just the plastic liner, then poked around with a thinner piece of wire to check for any services. None in the way, so continued to drill through. Siliconed up once gas line was in place."

Essentially drill from the inside out - not sure if this bodes well for a freezer though?

(Note - I am not a Fridge Mechanic by any means!)
