Hi all

Just checked on a brew that I put down 2 days ago, a pretty basic extract amber ale made up with Nott yeast.
Had a peep through the gladwrap lid and I thought it was all going fine, krausen formed, sediment there etc but when I bent in close I heard fizzing. Fairly faint, I had to listen with my ear pretty much right above the wrap to hear it but definitely there. Anybody else ever get this or a different sound from the fermenter?

Yes. It's normal. Nothing to worry about.

I set down a Belgian Tripel with Wyeast Labs 3538 PC yeast and I can up with the beer name "Langobier" because the Krausen was that loud it sounded like Langoliers coming out of the fermenting fridge.

Active fermentation like this usually means you will get better attenuation.

Cheers
