well... I like to as it makes for less sediment in the keg, so for me, yep.. when I was bottling, less important as it'll settle out in the bottle anyway. (sometimes I did and sometimes I didnt, depending on stocks level and the amount of time I held up the Ferment fridge)
as with most things brewing, it needs to be done for the right reasons, sometimes we do things as default (historically, racking was one of these) without really knowing why it is we do so, understanding the reasons is half the battle won
