I know, it's a of a rash move but that point in the evening I was tired and just wanted it to be finished already. It's not normal practice for me and I regretted doing it by the next morning. However upon checking the thermometer on the beer it was down to 18'c within 12 hours of pitching so I'm hoping the harm done is minimal.
 
I believe having a good few beers during brewing is part of the fun! It will get easier, I get the feeling too many people are aiming to get 95% efficiency on their first AG...

Great work on decocting on your first go, I think that is pretty awesome, I just wished you had a 6 pack that day as it may have been more enjoyable mate:)
