Hi All,

Looking for some suggestions of a favourite SMaSH all grain ale recipes for BIAB. I’m looking to do a couple of 10L brews in quick succession in order to improve my technique. I’m aiming to improve my beer clarity, and mash efficiency.

So tell me which SMaSH recipes get you excited?

Cheers

Exciting is a strong word for a smash recipe, as you are limited to diastatic malts.

But people can put together some interesting beers and isolate the contribution by the base malt.

I have a soft spot for using heritage malts this way like chevalier, or a malt like Vienna or light Munich for something characterful.

I always wished to make something like a rye Amarillo smash, perhaps even a Saison, but I don’t have the step mashing to make that work

Briess pale ale and Cascade - or Amarillo
I usually use 1056 but US05 would do the trick too.
