Curry!!

There's a curry place near where I work so me and a couple people I work with go there most friday nights after work (the place closes at 2am; that's good because we finish at 10.30pm) and have a curry.

My favourite order is Chicken vindaloo with basmati rice, garlic naan, and mango chutney.

Man i will join you on that one. I love my curries, especially home made ones.

But if I was stuck on a desert island with a magic box that produced the same meal over and over and could therefore only have one meal it would be........roast chicken and veggies. God I love roast potatoes.

or.....FOOOOOD! :)

I know exactly what you mean. There is just something about a roast spud isn't there. Or roast pumpkin which has gone all roasty and caramel...mmmmm. Chicken is a good choice for a perpetual meal. I would go for lamb or pork but then I would probably die of cholesterol poisoning before I was rescued.

Having said that I would have to rank curries as my favorite. Particularly the ones I make myself. A good vindaloo.. mmmmm. But not so good every night on a dessert island. Perpetual ring of fire... urg.

In order though -

1 - Curry and really good roasts
2 - Middle eastern/north african
3 - South/Central American
4 - Asian
5 - European

Order subject to change without notice depending on what my tastebuds crave on any given night.

I'm a bit of a cooking freak. It is my goal to be able to cook at least one meal from every country on earth. I have mastered western Europe, south/central America and Asia. I have nearly completed the middle east and eastern Europe. My next big effort will be Africa.

Cheers
Dave

Im with you there P&C - chicken or beef vindaloo, garlic naan, pappadams, raita, kuchumber and a few schooners of Kingfisher! I would eat it everyday if I could.
Cheers
Steve

Sadly the curry store is not lisenced :( But, I'd probably have something like a kingfisher with it too!

Mango Chicken with Saffron rice and garlic naan :beerbang:

Or Steak cooked medium with Bearnaise (sp?) sauce and Garlic Mash with a side of green beans.

or maybe a parmesan and herb crusted rack of lamb?

too many to decide from!!

But the meal that has topped my list was the 7 course degustation with wine @ Aria! Sheer culinary brilliance!

Sauerbraten, kartoffel knodel, rotkraut, and hefeweizen

Heaven on a plate...and in a glass.
