Yeah, I too missed the sodium perc buy. You can get it from your LHBS - G&G has it for $8/kg, though I'm not sure of the percentage of active ingredient? Otherwise, as FJ said, good old Napisan (or the Aldi equivalent).

Given napisan is reduced % of percarbonate, I'd say a 80% napisan 20% metasilicate would work pretty well!

So people who missed the percarbonate bulk buy should not be afraid of jumping on.

What sort of ratio would you mix with?

2 parts perc to 1 part sodium met for a home made PBW from what i gather.

Napisan has typically 30% perc from memory.. Been a long tome since i used any of that though.. So you might go a three or 4 one ratio or something?

Is it used for cleaning out fermenters or just as a general soaker? Is it better than starsan or used to break off crud from the bottom of the fermenter?

I'm starting to get stressed, think I've only got 15 kg of perc left h34r:

As per the Bulk Buy rules, to keep things transparent, I contacted the company where I bulk-purchased Sodium Percarbonate (3-4 years ago) and was quoted a decent price for both Sodium Percarbonate and Sodium Metasilicate. After iamozziyob finalizes everything here, it's probable that I'll pickup the stuff from there and deliver it to him (otherwise there may have been issues getting the Metasilicate delivered).

If anyone else wants bulk Sodium Percarbonate, (2:1 mix with Sodium Metasilicate for 'magic cleaning powder'), send me a PM, since I'll be getting some for myself.
