I'm sure it will be fine. Just have to make sure you give it a good clean after each use, and you should have years of trouble free chilling.

What's it like using a gas burner on top of one of those stainless benches? I'd imagine that'd heat up the whole bench no? Can they withstand the heat? I might be able to pinch one from work when they've finished with it.

No idea, they're strength rated to 100kg, so those doing triple/quad batch size 1V wouldn't work!

Feel free to get me a free stainless bench from your work to, happy to help them "dispose" of it ;-)

Trust me it's gonna be hard enough for me trying to score this one.

Picked one of these up on the weekend:

http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/Counterflow-Plate-Chiller-for-Home-Brewing-/181228333033?pt=AU_Barware&hash=item2a320ce7e9&_uhb=1

Looks remarkably similar to the Dudadiesel plate chiller (ie: the B3-23A), at about half the price. Only problem is you're locked in to hosetail barbs.

Is this a bargain, or have i missed something here??
It depends which plate chiller you are comparing prices with....That one on ebay is a 20 plate chiller according to the sticker on it.
Here is a link to the page for B3 23a Duda Deisel

http://www.dudadiesel.com/search.php?query=b3-23a

Cheers

Yeah, that's the one!
To get that here, is ~$150. These are listed as starting at $70, with ~$15 postage or pickup.
I noticed the one that ended an hour ago had no bids on it. Wtf? That's kinda why i was asking if i've missed something - it seems like the best deal on plate chillers i've seen in the last 12+ months.

I know that the kegking ($120) & G&G ($99) are also cheaper than dudadiesel, but i was under the impression the dudadiesel ones are meant to be the bees knees; & these look to be the same.
I should point out i have no affiliation here, but i just find it a bit bizarre.

Like i said, i thought it was an awesome deal on a plate chiller. ;)

I had these up before but didn't want the competition. :)
There is another Andale 3 tap font on Allbids - https://www.allbids.com.au/Buy/?T=Andale-Cobra-Beer-Tap&ID=575490, I just got this one for $63 --> https://www.allbids.com.au/Buy/?ID=575491 so the other one might go pretty cheap.

I'm not sure if you need to be a member to view so I apologise in advance if you do. Also, I work around the corner from the auction site....if any member wins the auction I'm happy to pick it up and post it on (on the provision it has already been paid for).Don't forget the 12.5% surcharge on top of your winning bid.

Hopefully the one I got is in good working order. No idea what they are worth but they have to be more than $63.
