Wasn't just me then.

I thought animals were supposed to be 'aware' of this stuff - both cats fast asleep still.

Just wait... the media will find a way to make this Rann's fault. By Monday there will be a new earthquake minster.

Hmmm talk about a political shake up....

The beginning of the end.

2012.

IT'S ALL SO REAL NOW!

This site shows recient earthquakes: http://webmap.ga.gov.au/imf-natural_hazard...ards_earthquake You can follow the link on the right to fill out a form reporting that you felt it. That site is very slow at the moment, here is the text version: http://www.ga.gov.au/earthquakes/ and a map: http://www.ga.gov.au/bin/earthquake.pl?tit...lm&zoom=500

What you felt was a magnitude 3.8 quake, details are:
Earthquake Details Date 16 Apr 2010 Time (UTC) 13:57:26 Latitude -35.15 Longitude 138.84 Magnitude 3.8 Depth (km) 0 Location Near Mt Barker, SA Felt (km) 51 Damage (km)

Has been reported to have been felt up to 51km away from the epicenter. It says it was a surface quake, get ready for another 2.6 magnitude one at 1057pm tonight! (my attenpt at predicting an aftershock :D )

Last weekend I setup an earthquake email notification at http://earthquake.usgs.gov/earthquakes/ They are reporting it as magnitude 3.3. This one was below my auto notification level of 5.3 atm.

Wow! think I'll be turning off the pc tonight - might also freeze some water for the brew fridge just incase the blackout in US of 15 years or so ago hit AU tomorrow.

AURORA WATCH: High latitude sky watchers should be alert for auroras. A coronal mass ejection (CME) is expected to deliver a glancing blow to Earth's magnetic field on April 17th. NOAA forecasters estimate a ~30% chance of geomagnetic activity when the cloud arrives.

So a coronal mass ejection, huge meteorite in US, earthquake in SA and also a 5.6 quake 1560km south of hobart on 12 april all in one week!

I'm starting to wonder about this whole 2012 thing.....There does seem to be a large amount of random occurrences lately, earthquakes, mini tsunamis, volcanic reactions etc etc.

Might have to start stocking up on beer, as a clean alternative to water it may come in handy....

I didn't even stop brushing my teeth. Was a slight rumble at our place for 5 seconds maybe.

There only seems to be more because you're thinking about it.

Or perhaps it's due to the fact our international news is simply covering more events........

Depending on whether or not you specified locations for your warnings, you just got an e-mail about this one...

Magnitude: 5.7
Date-Time: Tuesday, June 15, 2010 at 04:26:58 UTC (Monday, June 14, 2010 at 09:26:58 PM at epicenter)
Location: 32.698N, 115.924W (approx. Ocotillo, CA, USA)
Depth: 6.9 km (4.3 miles)

How do I know this? I'm about 100km from there (San Diego, CA, USA) and it still shook this place pretty well. I slept through the 4.something last night. I knew nothing exciting ever happened in Adelaide.

Clearly nothing exciting is happening where you're staying either.
Well, not at 9:30 at night when I have a meeting and yet another flight tomorrow. Besides, this IS a business trip after all, though one might not think so if they find the trail of empties I've left along the way.
