3 days into fermentation of my weatmalle dubble clone this has happened using wyeast 3787. Is this normal and will it be all good??

3787 is notorious for producing a massive krausen, same thing happened the first time I used it... now I give it the respect it deserves.

Yeah I'll have to sort something out.. It's made one hell of a mess.

Better to have healthy active yeast than the alternative...

And if you're lucky, some of the hop resins came out too. The Burton Union system relies on purging a lot of this crap out through - essentially - a blowoff tube and out of the fermenter.

It's an oppressive yeast. Chews down quickly and attenuates dry. Massive, milky krausen and contributes more flavour than most malts will. Really shows you how yeast can make a beer.

I had my quad throw its guts up for at least a day (I assume) while I was at work and I still managed to salvage it with a blow-off tube, still fermented 1.096 down to 1.019 so it should still have some pep in it if it hasn't already smashed it completely

This yeast is a real rollercoaster !!
Just checked the hydrometer and its down to 1.007 and still bubbling slightly!
I'm sure the cleanup will be worth it [emoji482][emoji322][emoji12]
