So the government collects excise tax from the brewer and bio-fuel manufacturer then charges GST on both. Nice hustle.
Wish I owned a government.
 
Doesn't the gov give a relief on the first 1.15% of alcohol as not to tax a tax, so to speak.

Yep.
But never mind. I think they charge in the order of $50 per liter on the ethanol you drink, but curiously about 38c per liter on the ethanol used to water down petrol.
 
Do they put an emetic into commercially produce ethanol?

Doubt it. Far as I know the general rule with hydrocarbon poisoning is diluting it with water or milk and seeking medical advice.
Hurling it up runs the risk of getting it into your lungs, which will pretty much pull your plug out.
