Can you be allergic to some yeasts or can a yeast be bad and taste bad?

Hi
I put a post up the other day about being sick from a beer.

It happened again. The beer I’m drinking is a yeast I have not used before but had before. And I’m sure had some of this batch before.

But yesterday I bought everything up and I mean everything. Very strange.

Can you be intolerant to a yeast? Or can yeast or beer be not right but not taste it? The beer was made same as usual.

I had lunch 6 hours earlier and if it was food it would have happened before? Also if you are sick from food it’s not as bad. This was like poisoning and my body had to get everything out, literally from the bottom of my stomach with nothing left. Never had this before. Brewing since 2015.

This beer hasn’t cleared.

First time I have used brew enhancer 3 (but have had before) - not sure related but just reading about beer allergies. Something in the ingredients don’t agree with me? Or is off ? But tastes fine - is that possible?

I think I may not have rinsed keg properly after cleaning? I use that pink cleaner. And why do the call it pink stain remover??? I might be sensitive to it, and the beer hasn’t been great.

That is what is on my container. Is this a bit of a slip up. Buying cheaper clothes cleaner and charging $10 for something that costs 50c? I used to use non scented clothes wash from coles $2.50. Worked well but was not sure how safe, but I did read that can be used.

Non-scented (sensitive) sodium perc. is good to use. Can buy cheap in bulk. A little TSP in the mix makes it more effective.

Non-rinse Iodophor, Starsan, Atomic15 good for sanitizing. Atomic15 low foaming is good in a bucket blaster.

Thanks
But can it make you vomit badly if not rinsed. The pink cleaner ? There are no ingredients on it…

Pink. Is Chlorinated Tri-sodium Phosphate (TSP)

TSP is a bit of an environmental cluster **** (not to mention the Cl), but very little is required (usually 1 tsp/5L water) it’s very effective as both a cleaner and sanitiser.
The Big “BUT” it isn’t a no rinse option.
Used properly its one of the cheapest and most effective products on the market.

**** was an F-Bomb, I wanted to use it, got autocorrected by sanctimonious American web owners/developers...

I dunno what the problem is but I don’t agree with some of your assumptions about food poisoning. FP can take anything from 2 hours to 10 weeks to show up, depending on what the bug is. FP can also be extremely severe. People die from FP.

As mark mentioned pink neo, or pink stain remover is chlorinated tri sodium phosphate. It’s an effective alkali cleaner and the chlorinated form is a super effective sanitiser. However this needs to be rinsed very thoroughly. Looking at the MSDS I think it may be your cleaning routine that’s the culprit. Not food poisoning, just injesting some gnarly chlorinated alkali.
This is directly from the safety data sheet:

Information on likely routes of exposure:
Ingestion: May cause gastrointestinal irritation. Signs/symptoms may include abdominal pain, stomach upset, nausea, vomiting and diarrhoea.

These symptoms sound pretty similar to what you’ve described

Make sure you really really thoroughly rinse anything that you clean or sanitise with the pink neo. If you’re using kegs also make sure there’s none left over in your liquid dip tube. A no rinse sanitiser might be a good option to stop this from happening in future as they’re basically inert to the human body even when injected in moderate quantities. Hope your feeling better though!
