Dilution/gravity Calculations

I have 12 litres of 10.80 wort, how much water do I need to dilute with to get 10.50?

7L will hit approx 1051 on beersmith... HOWEVER, what was the original batchsize u intended to brew? U can add sterile water to dilute the strength when u overshoot efficiency but u will also lose ur hop bitterness and aroma as u are watering it down

This works well enough:
80 / 50 * 12 = 19.2
19.2 - 12.0 = 7.2L of water added to dilute to 1.050

I use this formula with MaxiBIAB all the time, usually lose a little bit to trub but I compensate for that by reducing the concentrated volume.
