While on the subject, what about a fermenter lid removal tool, I saw one somewhere using a big piece of plywood, any other ideas?

You can also use a length of rope with a loop at one end wrapped around the edge of the lid to act as a fulcram as it were.

Ahh TP, Thats the one! Beautiful job. Far to intricate for me to bother with, I was hoping for a bar with a bolt welded on or something,
