I have been planning on doing a Thomas Coopers Heritage Lager for a few weeks now but i can't find any Light Malt Extract tins. I have a decent stock of bits of ingredients which i think i can use to make a nice beer and i also have another fermenter to rack into. These are the ingredients i have with me;

90g Cascade, Cluster, POR, Amarillo, Centennial Hops
1kg Carapils
1kg Medium crystal
500g dex
1kg LME
US-05 yeast

Any suggestions?

Can't you get any Dried LME from your local store or even Coopers ME if they still stock it in your local supermarket or even BE2 at a push.

Not sure what you intend to brew but 250g of Carapils will go with the can.

Looked everywhere, cant find LME in a can. How much dried LDME would be equivalent to one can of goo?

1 tin is 1kg of dry or I think its 1kg dry to 1.5kg of liquid or there abouts

I have made this kit before but have a few improvements planned for next time. It is definitely more of an Aussie style of lager than a euro. This is what I plan to brew:

TC Heritage Lager Tin
1kg LDME
250g Dextrose (dry out the malt)
250g White cane sugar (give that Aussie lager twang)
100g Carapils steeped (for head retention and a bit of grain character)
5-10g POR flowers in a 15minute boil (I like lager quite bitter)
All made upto 23L

I am going to use a Danish Lager yeast at 10degC then ramp it up at the end. If using US05 try to ferment around 18degC.

This is what im going to do up tomorrow.

1 Can Coopers Heritage Lager
1kg Light Dry Malt Extract
500g BE2
100g Carapils
US-05 at 18C

Rack to secondary for 2 weeks.
