Okay a few people may be aware I started a thread a month or two ago regarding my Design and Technology HSC major project. I was designing and building a climatically controlled guitar display cabinet, and thought it would be best to consult the members of this forum about temperature regulation. I would just like to say thank you to everyone who gladly helped me in my endeavor to produce the final product. After 8 long months, here she is:

*There is a matte black steel panel to screw over the electronics compartment, still drying :D

I designed (with some help from the people on these forums) built and produced the entire system, you can see the build thread here:

Nice work !

And by looking at some of the background junk in that photo, when we convince you to start homebrewing, you already have the mashtun esky, nochill cube and fermenting pail. What are you waiting for ? :icon_cheers:

couple of decent looking rods on the wall too...

Looks awesome!

Now its finished you should be able to house a nice guitar in it!

:p

You got something against Korean Ibanez rip offs LOL ?

That cabinet would better with my ESP housed in it.

Yep....

Actually, alot of the LTD stuff is really nice.

Used to work in a music store down here. We were the dealership for ESP/LTD, Fender, Ibanez, Maton, Yamaha etc.

A lot of people think of the LTD as the "el cheapo" or poor mans ESP, but it's not always the case....Some of the LTD's are really, really good. I owned a six string LTD active bass, gold hardware, separate bass, mid and treble eq - amazing bass and it only retailed for around $1600 or something. Natural flamed maple cap, yummy.

It's like Fender - A lot of the stuff coming out of Mexico is every bit as good as the USA standard stuff (not custom shop though). I've played some amazing Mexican one's (i also own a surf green 50's player's strat - modeled on the '57 strat) and also played some god awful USA one's...

I used to own a 80's Japanese built Squire strat (those that know these guitars won't make the comparison to the squire name that's around now....) and it outplayed many USA built standards that i've come across. It was an $800 guitar...

Was lucky to find the PRS as it used to belong to the band's previous guitarist (and store manager where i worked). It's a '97, so it's got a couple of little nicks and small dings, the usual scratches around the back from the belt buckle etc... but it's still in very, very good condition.

Paid $1500 for it!

And no, it's not for sale......ever....

HAHA you wrote ESP and meant PRS.. your keyboard is playing up again ST!

Damn you and your totally awesome guitar, Cocko

As Nath said, some of the cheaper ESP range is superb, speaking of the EC series (similar body shape to a Les Paul). Some beautiful heavy tones, a neck feel that for me is perfect. Unfortunately they lack clean tones once you get up past the octave and try and do some widdy-widdly. Lucky for me my playing stays in the low-end pits of hell :beerbang

which just happens to be what that guitar and pickup combo is awesome at doing!

Good price too...Last time i saw one of those they retailed at a nudge over 3K

No no, Wasn't saying anything about any guitar is better than the next.. By all means, each guitar has it purpose and more importantly, Each guitar has its owner and that owner should ride that bitch till the wheels fall off!...

SRV style..

So that's how you plan to justify this photo of yourself, posing with your most cherished instrument?

I rock out on it... and the flowers grow a little more with each chord!

You cannot bag out LTDs unless they are 300 series and below, picked up that lovely H401FM from the states for 1000, retails here for 1600, discontinued model as of febuary 2010. Beautiful guitar, swapped out the stock seymours for a set of EMG 81/85s.... neck thru body, ultimate sustain.
