i've seen them up in sydney too recently. considered it...but if i bought that...i'd have to go and buy a bunch more things to make a 2 vessel system! haha

How much are they normally? Will check out my local coles tomorrow

I put a bag of ice in a similar willow esky yesterday with a few stubbies. Next time I'll put it all in the oven. It will last longer that way.

Took mine away for a weekend and the ice started to melt really fast so threw some ice bricks in and frozen water bottles and it kept much longer. My stubbies wernt cool when they went in though so could of been the issue. You can put 2 ice bricks in the lid but I dont think it does much unless the esky is already full of ice and cold beer.

It seems to perform very well if the weather is Arctic also. Hence my esky collection is like my wardrobe. It changes with the season.

My techni-ice esky is the best but next time I will buy a white one for the times when it is in the sun. Incidentally A layer of foil bubble insulation (the stuff that can replace blanket under an iron roof) formed around any esky and duck-taped improves performance markedly. I guess most eskies don't incorporate a radiant barrier. Hence the bags for engel and Waeco style car- fridges.

I also think that bags of ice get smaller each year - Like a "large" chips at Maccas.

I'd pay more next time and get something thick that performs well. The techno-ice ones look the go.

I was really short of time and needed an esky for a weekend wedding so grabbed it. Might possibly be a mash tun one day.

Saw some at forest hill (vic) Coles today at $29. About another 8 or so there.

I'm planning a mash tun for one (my current one off the side of the road has a limited lifespan as the plastics starting to craze), and keeping one for taking away/ parties etc at home.

Cheers Mudd

I have a big 120ltr Techni-Ice one which i got for a deal :) stacked it with about 8 bags of ice on a NYE and it kept for a week. Not that the drinks did...

They have a store somewhere in Frankston on Frankston-Dandy Rd, a mate went there and they were selling eskys for $1 per litre so maybe worth a look.

Left a friend's early tonight and sped to the Forest Hill Coles (arriving a few mins before close) only to find they're full price ($90). I also checked Coles in Flemington this morning and it was the same story.

Really bummed I wasn't able to get one of these while they were on sale.

Funny. Was in forest hill Coles yesterday still a bunch there at $29. Near the liquor entry from the supermarket.

Whaaaat? I went inside and saw the stack marked @ $90 and even went up to the counter to have them check it with the scanner. Then a couple of staff looked at the current and previous catalogues for me...

Is this the one you're talking about?
