Gosh, golly, but that looks like something that "doesn't get discussed" around these here parts....kelbygreen said:citric acid or vinegar is good, For the outside I just use a SS scrubber works a treat little more work but dont have to soak it. See guys use CLR on it but I wouldnt use that if its in contact with the wort.
Here is a picture of just using stainless steel wool but very hard to clean inside of the pipes lol.
Failing that drop it into your mash tun next time you brew that usually cleans them up pretty well. but might want to get majority of the crud off first
