My beautiful wife and two kids gave me some undies (desperately needed, but I won't go further than that!!) and 6 mixed stubbies from worldbeers for Fathers Day.

Cracked the first of them, the Cave Creek Chili beer this afternoon. On the nose, it's all Jalapeo pepper. It's got a fair malty whack initially, on the pallet, then a warming wave of heat.

No bitterness that I can taste over the heat - it's a really strange beer - I'm struggling to see (taste) the point of it? I'm an ardent chili fan and eat a lot of chili each day, but I'm not reeeaaaallly enjoying this beer.

Anyone else had it? Does anyone actually really enjoy it, aside from the novelty factor?

Cheers - Mike

I've had it.

I didn't like it and I not only like chilli I like chilli beers.

It's bland and just doesn't work for me...

Has anyone got any good recipes for a K&K chili Beer?

Yeah. Maybe it needs a whole lot more malt / hop / aroma to make it work? Maybe a chili ale would be better?
