One of the other regulars there had practically nothing left of her fingers--a pan had caught fire, she grabbed the handle and transferred it to the sink and left half her hands stuck to the handle.
While boiling wort won't let the pan get that hot please take care with pans of boiling whatever. Turn the heat off, don't move the pan if there is a boilover. Moving a pan quickly might cause a wave inside the pan and a very painful scald from boiling hot wort splashing out.
