Can anyone recommend a decent stainless welder in brissy? I'm after someone to weld 8 ferrules into some pots, so it would have to be food grade. I've had one quote, but my brother reckons It's well on the high side (he's a boilermaker, but lives over in Wait Awhile).

if it's gonna cost you an arm and a leg, look at soft soldering them in yourself
I got my gear for soldering for under $100 on ebay and from bunnings
Bobby from Brewhardware has great videos on soft soldering on brewing gear

This is the torch I bought, it's coped pretty well with brazing (using mapp gas) and soldering, only needing to supplement a bit of heat from a 3 ring burner when brazing up some bigger stuff

I have all the gear to soft solder, but I'm not sure how well it would hold up.

Spoke to my brother last night and I reckon the best option is just to send the pots over to him in WA and get him to do it. At least that way I know they're gonna be done properly. He'll drill and pull all the holes first.

I have the gear to dimple your pots . Dimpled and soldered is very strong. If i had nothing weldless is a very good option.
