Tad harsh reaction to weal's comments. The items sold, and he's making a recommendation based on an item he's actually stumped up his own $ to buy and test. (and I don't actually think he would bother importing them, as if he wanted to make more $ he would just become a train driver :))

Considering he also owns a braumeister (I'm pretty sure), then he's a pretty good basis for offering some comparison between it and other alternatives.

And if you go back a couple of years, the grainfather was just some new 'crazy clarks' derivative also whenever it was talked about against a braumeister..

Exactly, the one I recommended is all but a Grainfather in name, plus the camlock fittings, the automatic six program mash and boil, and the 2500 watt element. Otherwise exactly the same, from the same factory, and the only reason I bothered mentioning it is because of the grievance expressed by the member who missed out and quite wrongly aired that grievance on the thread, may just be the cloud with a silver lining to calm him down.

Not sure if this question has been answered in some other thread so I figure I'll ask it here.

How does the bottom tap go, in terms of cleaning/sanitising?

I recently had a persistent infection that I narrowed down to a one-piece ball valve. Do people upgrade to a 3 piece valve, or wot?

Cheers

It is a pretty common mod with Braumeisters.

You'll need a reducing bush as well.

My original tap had an issue because the silicone insert occasionally shifted and reduced the flow. It was a real pain in the arse,

I didn't know why the reduced flow was happening until after a couple of batches.

Once I worked it out, I was highly motivated to get rid of the Brau tap and I can also see how it could harbour infections.

Ha ha wouldn't make much money selling home brew equipment in Australia, especially when punters can buy direct from the manufacturer, it is a Superior version of the Grainfather which you can buy direct from the manufacturer. 30 litre is $233 U.S and 50 litre $255 U.S
Foshan Shunde Guten Kitchen Equipment.

Is that per unit or per container load?

Sorry, skipped right over it. You need an eye catching, slightly ****ographic avatar..

So we're still at a very reasonable (in my opinion) $677.62 AUD. If, as WEAL suggests its more or less a re branded Grainfather, well..

Wocao, all the way from Foshan?!
I couldn't find this on Taobao listings.

Just to keep on the Guten hijack I found Murphy China freight the cheapest
all up under the $500 for the 30L but never went ahead

So WEAL how is it you might have to start a new thread because some people will get the sh&*ts for some reason

You said the boil started straight away after the mash was that youre mistake or ???
feed back would be great

If I had a BRAU or a GF it wouldnt worry me as I would be set for making wort just more options now

Have been tossing up making my own Q Kev style wort maker which is another option
