Coreflute costs more to produce and recycle but would be great. You could get some samples from a bunch of different paper companies sent to you and make your own cartons... You could also use old/unwanted signage that's been made out of coreflute.

You could not only make a crate but have inserts that slot together and make a 3x3 grid for stacking bottles.

Weekend project!

As for me I got creative and played tetris with my cupboards - managed to get room under my sink for about 75 bottles that won't impact anything else I'm storing, and the fiance is pleased as they'll be out of sight! Unfortunately the bottom shelf is about a half inch too short for bottles to fit, but at least I can lay my empties down in there as I drink 'em up.
