I am making a very basic brew for my partner. She has a favorite of Canadian Blonde + BE2. I was thinking to jazz it up just a touch I would do a small boil (2l) with 15-20gm of cascade for 10min

Now I was wondering whether the BE2 can be used to bring the boil liquid up to 1.040?? Or should I use some of the can?

Thanks
Ben

My guess is either would do. Even hot water will give some hop aroma which is what I assume you are going for. Gravity is more an issue with utilising the bittering compounds (longer boil) as far as I'm aware.

Thanks guys. I wasnt sure whether dextrose and malto would be suitable but guess its such a small boil.

Yes mate, BE2 will be fine to use for the boil.

Use about 100g per Litre to get about 1040.

100g malt to one litre of water gives 1040 but what about brew enhancer 2?

Still fine to use for the boil though.
