G'day guys I'm looking for a really good black beer recipe. I use only coopers cans so maybe a Dark Ale with DME and some hops???? Any ideas

Black beer like a stout?
Or a schwarzbier?

Anything commercial you are inspired by? When I did tins, I had success with thomas coopers heritage stout, some lactose, a mix of dme and dex and some s04 yeast.

Cheers for that. Not a stout I had a Montieth Black Beer recently and loved it.

You could do a basic coopers pale kit and steep a few hundred grams of carafa to get the colour and some mild roastiness without going into stout or porter territory.

Great idea.

Perhaps a bit of lactose, steep some crystal & a neutral yeast & you might get a passable Dogbolter.....?

If you want the colour only you could also consider dark candy sugar.. Ross had a BIPA at the tap takeover in Melbourne that was pretty good, black without the roastyness you would expect from as beer that dark
