Belgium in September

My wife has given me the green light for a Belgium beer tour in September next year.
Would anyone be interested there are only 10 spots on the tour.
It's $1999 for eight day tour, I have attached the itinerary for you all to look at.

Some people’s idea of a beer adventure is checking out that pub two streets over from the local. The true beer connoisseur, however, is a different breed. Designed with the fancy suds aficionado in mind, this 8-day trip takes you to the ancestral home of Trappist, one of the world’s finest brewers. In Belgium, you’ll visit the six Trappist monastery-breweries in Belgium (including the chance to taste Westvleteren, one of beerdom’s most celebrated brews), explore Brussels and Bruges, and stuff yourself with mussels, waffles and chocolate galore. (Hey, beer-tasting is hungry work.)

• Brussels orientation walk. Rochefort visit including beer tasting and picnic. Orval visit with beer and Trappist cheese tasting. Chimay visit with lunch and tasting at a local brasserie. Bruges orientation walk. Barbecue home meal near Westvleteren with beer tasting. Antwerp orientation walk. "Café Trappisten" beer tasting (Westmalle). Achel visit with tasting. All transport between destinations and to/from included activities.

Itinerary Notes
Please note: Most abbey interiors and breweries are closed to visitors. It can be hit or miss as to how much we're permitted to see of the abbeys or the brewing process but we have insiders on the ground working to provide the most in depth experience possible. We will experience the exteriors of all the monasteries and sample beers produced from each abbey. Be prepared to be flexible and hope for the best!


Day 1 Brussels
Arrive at any time.

Day 2 Brussels (1B)
Enjoy an orientation walk of the city with your CEO. Use this day to visit a chocolate factory, the Delirium beer hall, Art Deco Turkish baths or indulge in a gourmet Belgium tour. Opt to go for a beer walking tour. Belgium is known not only for beer but also for waffles, mussels, 'frites' and chocolate. Indulge away!

Day 3 Rochefort (1B, 1L)
See the church at Abbaye Notre Dame de Saint Remy where Rochefort is made – with some luck, they'll let us in for a peek. Head to the markets in this beautiful medieval town and collect some cheese, bread, meats and local delicacies and enjoy a picnic with a Trappist beer.

Day 4 Orval/Chimay/Bruges (1B,1L)
Visit Orval in late morning to try beer and Trappist cheeses. Enjoy an included lunch at the brasserie near Chimay to try beers normally reserved for the monks. Head to Bruges for the night.

Day 5 Westvleteren/Bruges (1B,1L)
Enjoy a free morning in Bruges to explore the city. In the afternoon, head to a local's home for a barbecue where he'll share his stash of the rare and delicious Westvleteren beer. In September it could be possible to visit the monastery and view the brewing process.

Day 6 Westmalle/Achel/Antwerp (1B)
Take a private van to Antwerp stopping for a visit to Westmalle en route. The abbey here is closed to visitors but we will enjoy a tasting at the Café Trappisten, with the option for lunch including tastes of Trappist meats and cheeses. Next sample some Achel beer near the brewery before heading to Antwerp for the evening.

Day 7 Antwerp (1B)
Enjoy a free day in Antwerp with the option to visit a local brewery by bike, visit some museums or venture underground on an Antwerp sewer tour.

Day 8 Antwerp (1B)
Depart Antwerp at any time. Your CEO can help arrange transport back to Brussels airport.

It's not clear if it includes costs for beer tastings -> breakfasts, 3 lunches, no dinners.

It's not a "short" train ride from Belgium to Munich - budget at least 7 hours.
A flight would be better (there's an airport at Munich).

FWIW: I would be quite easy to bicycle around these areas, it's not so far between each city.
Belgium has some really nice camp grounds - although they're a bit thin on the ground in the east, where it can get quite hilly.
So if you wanted to do it "on the cheap", DIY is certainly possible.
