"Beers With The Brewer"
The Pumphouse Hotel at Darling Harbour is the venue of our next "Beers With The Brewer" afternoon.
Matt Donellan from St.Peter's Brewery will be joining us & telling us all about the latest beers he has on tap there including the Thunderbolt, Pumphouse Dark Ale, St Peters Blonde, and Killagh Stout. So come along with a few questions ready, and enjoy a pint or two. Or three!

Where - Pumphouse Hotel, Darling Harbour
Date - Saturday July 28th from 1pm

Cheers
Gerard

I count 4 beers there, so 4 pints might be in order.

Noting it on the calendar!

See you there :chug:

Sounds good. If I'm not away that weekend I'll be there!

Good day
I went to one with Mat last year, very informative, fun, a great afternoon.
If I keep going back Mat might get the right I idea that I like his beer. :D

Barry - I have a large box of glasses sitting at our warehouse for you, trophies from the Castle Hill comp. I won't bring them along on Saturday as they may not travel well on the train home. I will drop them at ESB next time I am down that way.

I actually missed last years event due to moving house & hyperextending my knee, I will definately make it this year.
Cheers

I didn't make it due to other commitments, but hope to catch a future BWTB.

My brewday didn't start/finish early enough, bloody HLT wasn't plugged in properly ! ..didn't make it sorry

The beers were awesome, with the Thunderbolt the highlight for me. There were only 8 people that showed up, & they all said they saw it advertised in the Good Living guide. I guess that shows the power of print media, I always knew this internet thing would never catch on. I think the flu kept a few away.
Matt gave a very interesting talk on each of the 3 beers that he has on tap there, with a jug of each to share around.
All in all a good day for those that turned up.
Cheers

Good to hear it was a top day Gerard. Wish I would have made it, but unfortunately my weekends are now almost non-existant, now that there's only a few weeks till I submit my thesis... :(

When you have the thesis out of the way I will organise a tour with Matt of St.Peters Brewery on a Saturday morning for the FaB boys.

mmm thunderbolt, I still remember it fairly well :chug: Spent awhile there 'sampling' ;) it' :chug:

The joint is quite cool I thought with all the chainmail type stuff going on down the wall in one area and what not and slightly darker atmosphere it was awesome, awesome out the front aswell. I was slightly - very drunk at the time and what I do remember was cool.

I enjoyed drinking there much more than up the track a bit at MSB, maybe because the staff at MSB were arogant and they didn't have much choice from the actuall in house brewery when there except the highway man which i thought wasn't much chop, seemed to taste a bit like every MSB beer mixed into one.
I was hopping for something like the speculator which I have heard some nice things about, anyway............

Thumbs up for the pumphouse, next time I'll venture back again for a hour or so on the beers.

To the point :excl: whats the story not many AHB guys made it to this one then?
