You could just randallise it and call it a heavy-handed APA. Put enough hops in, their shouldn't be many tastebuds left after the first sip or two to detedct a grainy flavour.

FWIW (and bearing in mind I don't have my notes with me so volumes are approx based on my normal routine), I made an all JW Ale APA with a detectable graininess to it; 5.5kg malt, mashed with ~12L at 66C, fly sparged with ~14L @ 70C, hopped with Amarillo to ~27IBU for 60 min boil, fermented with 1056 from 1.055 down to 1.010 IIRC. Could have done with more hops.

Hey Adam,

I used US-56.

Been adding more hops now, which helped.

Still need more hops! :super:

My all-Joe White Ale malt APA I'm currently drinking tastes quite "grainy" for lack of a better word.

How clear is your run-off to the kettle? Since your batch sparging I''m assuming its quite cloudy. If you can recirculate your run-off till its crystal clear you'll solve the problem (best practice I reckon). Otherwise let beer age for a couple of weeks as Ducatiboy suggests (second best practice). Last resort - Filter (not good practice IMO - Cheating :p )

Asher for now
