OK...tried this as my 4th brew ever [now doing 7th] and it came out nicely.
3kg 'X-tract' hopped Lager kit.
12g Hallertau hops steeped in 250ml boiling water for 10~12min.
Saflager S24 yeast.
Brew sub-18'C for 8 to 12 days or to preference.
Primed with 6g white sugar to 750ml bottle.
Let sit in secondary for a week, then 2 weeks after that it should be right to taste. Obviously it improves with age, but the 3-week mark for me is enjoyable. Its worth noting that it improves after several days in the fridge because the yeast compacts in the bottle making for an easier pour [I dont CC or rack to secondary].

[PS: Try the recipe with a good brand of lager kit and 1~1.5kg of liquid malt extract if you can't find 3kg X-tract kits]
