Guys,
A few members from the BABBs (Brisbane Amateur Beer Brewers) club will be on Brisbane Extra tonight at 5.30pm in a segment with Microbrewery Oxford 152 & at a members house. Hopefully the editing gods will be kind to us and the story will put us in a light that promotes craftbrewing as oppsoed to the "cheap p@#$" brush we seem to get tarred with.

Cheers
Paul

I hope they do a better job than that other mob, who made us look like 'Dorks R Us'

Hopefully they will give viewers a decent look at John Kennedy's beautiful electric all-stainless steel brewery.

Emailed 152 Oxford re the Sunshine Coast Brewers paying a group visit, tasting, brewery tour and lunch. No response at all!!! Was it any good? or are we wasting our time.

Screwtop,
We have only dealt with the head brewer brennan fielding & found him more than helpful, in fact came to a club meeting to do a talk on yeast & stuck around to talk to members. Brewery is behind a glass wall so you can have a look from outside. I do know from talking to the staff that weekends are flat out & not sure whether he works weekends or not.

Cheers
Paul

I saw the segment last night and while it didn't make homebrewing look cheap or 'dorkie', (unless I blinked) I don't remember seeing anything about AG. Even thought they showed a bucket of grain in the preview before the ad leading into the storey.
They were also discussing K&K while showing the impressive pictures of the AG setup, which I think made it look all too complicated to even get started.

Did anyone else tune in? Comments?

Chad,
The initial contact made with the producers was to give exposure to the club & the fact that the winner of the club comps beer would have their beer featured at the Micro. We discussed with the producer our club & our brewing styles highlighting the alternatives offered by craftbrewing. True to style the article was dumbed down a little to appeal to a wider audience.
Linking the club brewed beers to those that are sold on a commercial premises hopefully assists in elevating what we do as craftbrewers rather than the typical "cheap p@#$" story that is usually portrayed.
In relation to K&K well weall started somewhere didn't we!

Cheers

I thought it did a pretty good job for a short segment.
At least it gave some good tips to avoid and will hopefully result in some starter brewers avoiding the old stereotypical bad homebrew.

Now I know I've only been to one meeting but it was news to me that the winner of the comp will be able to brew their beer at 152 :)

All in all I thought it wasn't a bad bit on homebrewing
