In line with the other noob mistake threads, I have my own to contribute.

I recently finished my 2nd Dr Smurto's golden ale. It was no chilled and put in the FV yesterday. I was going through my notes and realised I didn't add my final addition of hops on flame out. I must have got a little carried away. :)

I have every intention to add some hops to the FV in the next couple of days....should I double up to compensate?

If you want to better compensate for a missed flame-out addition, try a hop tea instead. Draw out some wort, heat it up to 75-80°C or so, and put it in a coffee plunger with your hops to steep for 10 minutes or so. Plunge and pour the green soup back into your beer.
