Hi All,
I have read heaps of threads re the Fridgemate (so please dont suggest searching ;) ) and dont have an answer to a very simple question. I am fine when it comes to wiring, fridge cycles, where to place the sensor - going to bluetac it to the outside of fermenter - UNLESS there is huge opposition to this? Feel free...
My question is - How are you guys running the lead into the fridge for the thermometer? Is it just plonked in through the door and door pushed shut or do you put a nick in the door seal or are you drilling through the wall with a grommet setup? Dont really want to drill into a perfectly good fridge. Maybe there is another way?
Regards,
mckenry.

My cord just sits under the seal at the back (of my chest freezer).

It's only a thin wire, so I just poked it through the top door seal at 90 degrees right underneath the freezer door.

:D
I have two fermenting fridges both fitted with Fridgemates. I simply looked at the back of the fridges and pushed the temp probes carefully through the sticky sealer where the pipes go through through the back of the fridge. The Chest freezer I use for serving my beer I fitted with a wooden collar and drilled through that.
Cheers Altstart

Simply tape the sensor cable to the hinge side of the fridge and run it in over the seal and tape it to the inside also, leaving enough free to reach your fermenters. Unless you're doing all lagers the thing won't be working real hard to keep ales at around 18 so not sealing 100% isn't a real issue.

that sounds like a pretty good idea ^^^, but for now just going in the door opening under the seal. already have one hole drilled through the side for the keg gas line and will most likely drill that out a bit more to fit both. then just use some foam sealer to insulate.
