Is there any wiring/installation to be done or is it plug and play ?

There is some wiring to be done, but it's pretty easy with the instructions. If you know an electrician, he might do it for you for a few beers! :D

You'll be fine then. I've done 2 for myself and 1 for a mate. I'm sure there's a post about it here somewhere, but I used a small black box from DickSmith, an extension cord (I've found at least 3m is best), and a couple of cable glands (to hold the extension cord as it passes into/out of the box).

Yardy - Screwy's fridge set-up then was back on 2005 and I would assume he has moved on into the digital age. I had two of the adlos for heating and cooling but they were analogue with temp settings on a dial. Whilst they did the job in the early days the Fridgemate Temp Controllers with digital readout are all over them these days, do both jobs (heating and cooling) and are heaps cheaper.
Cheers, Hoges.

Happy to say the old Adlo is still working and in use on my ferm fridge, coupled with the digital thermometer it's fine and simple. I also have two MashMate and two MashMaster digital controllers foe use with other devices. Happy with all of them.

Screwy,

when you say 'coupled' .... how exactly ?

I've got the same adlo controller and would like to know how you have yours setup.

Sorry Yard, probably not a good choice of words (coupled). Bought a little electronic thermometer from The Dick. The dual type (in and out temps, about $19.00) one built in sensor and one remote sensor on a cable. The unit is mounted on the outside of the fridge with a bit of velcro and the probe is run into the fridge. Just use it to set the Adlo and monitor temps. Displays the temp in the brewery and the temp inside the fridge.

Nice, that's on the shopping list for the brew fridge :)

just been to hardly normal and grabbed a new 276lt F&P Freezer for the kegs B) B)

Maybe the only problem is my patience. Would love to hear from some one who is actually using one of these thermos :)
I've had one for a few years. I use it with a big old Philips fridge that was given to me by my sister.
I like it because it can fit two 25L pail fermentors.
On one occasion I've come across a similar problem to yours. After using it for a number of years it just seemed to stop working and the fridge wouldn't start at all.
I unplugged it from the Adlo and plugged it directly into the power point. Nothing.
I thought the fridge must have had it, which was no surprise as it's pretty old.
If I remember right, I think I unplugged it, left it for a couple of days and then tried it again and it started like normal.
I've used it in the last couple of weeks for two lagers at around 12c and it's worked fine.
So, I've had a similar experience but sorry, I can't explain it.
