Hi all,

I have a recipe for 4% AA Styrian Goldings to be added at 20 minutes for flavour. The only Styrian I have are plugs and they are 2.6%. 1 4% Plug (15gm) would give IBU's of 2.7, 1 plug of 2.6% gives 1.8 IBU.

Is it worthwhile popping in two 2.6% plugs? I'm not concerned about the IBU's as it's a Pale Ale and Already has 60IBU from the Target bittering hops. What I am concerned about is the Flavour. Is it worthwhile adding the extra plug, or just keep it to one?

Cheers,

Geoff

Could possibly chuck the two lower AA plugs into a tight bag in the boil to lessen the utilisation, putting it closer to 2.7 rather than 3.6....

Or. Just throw them both in, what style is it Geoff?

Hey Adam,

It's a White Russian IPA. I threw in two plugs, the %AA won't be noticed, and it may improve the flavour somewhat. Be interesting to see what happens.

Cheers,

Geoff
