Well I was just down the shopping centre and whilst buying an '08 diary from the newsagent, I decided to have a look and see if they had any brewing related mags...and Yes they did - BeerandBrewer. There is also a website too http://www.beerandbrewer.com.au/

I had a quick squiz through the Mag and 2 things in particular caught my attention...
1. Coopers are now importing Grolsch
2. Paul Mercurio was thanked for his contributions(Nice one Paul!!)

Anyone else seen this new Mag?? bought a copy?? Anyone else here a contributor??

The guy from dancing with the stars?

That mag has been out now for about 6 months, it's nice to see a mag on this topic and Oz.

Yes. Otherwise known on here as Mercs Own. He also starred in the Coopers How to Brew video that you get when you buy the kit.

Cheers

Doesn't he also own (or part own) a brewery or brew pub or something?

He used to spend so much time at the Lord Nelson, it appeared as though he owned it. :D

I didn't know he was in the Coopers How to Brew vid. I knew he was on here, worked that out a while ago. I've always enjoyed his shows. Especially liked the cooking show one where he travelled around and used the local ingredients. Nice easy watching show that always went well with a beer on a lazy weekend. Cheers Mercs keep them coming mate.

Not sure whether I shoulda posted in here or the thread Ross posted. I've only bought issue 3 thus far. I was disappointed with the editing or more so the spelling mistakes. I don't know why but it annoys me when something as simple as that isn't picked up. Its like do they actually read this mag? I was also disappointed in the article on Ross. We all know about his 10 tap font here but they didn't show anything else like he has a coolrom or any of his brew gear porn. I don't think the average punter, read non AHB member would have thought much about that story. Also the average punter probably doesn't even know what AG is. But good to see none the less.

I'll be buying the next issue and then I'll make my mind up whether or not to suscribe. I just hope they get these spelling mistakes sorted. /end rant

Ditto, will be a couple more issues before I'll make my mind up.
Re: spelling errors, no excuse for it in published material.

I would also like to see better captioning for the photo's, most of them had none.
For example, who were the people pictured in the 'Stella Draught Masters' article in #3?
Seven people were shown, Erin Carroll and Kate Gow got named. One photo I could read 'Alex' on the name-tag, who is he? How did he go?
The only exception is the 'Beer Gardens' article which had small captions in every photo.
Obviously not every photo needs captioning, the Michael Jackson article for example, but the majority of them do.

I got a 2 year subscription for Xmas...... 8 editions and a free T Shirt for $50

It's a great mag to flick through and get very thirsty over all those lovely bottles, but I reckon the homebrewing section could use a few more pages.
Looking forward to trying your Schwarzbier recipe sometime, Ross! :chug:
