Could not see this link posted anywhere (although I did not look to hard).

It is a story about a 45-Million year old yeast that is now being used to make beer. The first part of the article is about the yeast and the second part about its application in making beer.

The last paragraph is interesting..... I totally disagree.

I have read this story somewhere else, but just read the last paragraph

"Unscrupulous brewers" my arse. If he is unwilling to pasteurise or filter the hell out of his beers, then the product he sells can be used however a homebrewer chooses.

If he was really that worried, he should remove the yeast and bottle condition with some other yeast.

Interesting stuff though.

yeah, good luck to him patenting a non-GM organism. seriously, how is pasteurising more expensive than a patent?
