    Too Much Head!

<_< <_< Hi Fellow Brewers After a number of successful brews with my 19l keg I have upgraded to a 50l keg recently but not without a rather worrying problem. After chilling the keg in my newly adapted fridge, I connected the gas through the beer line hoping to get a faster carbonation. I...

    Over Carbonation?

Hi All Have recently kegged my CPA brew using CPA cultured yeast. However when I gassed it (40 psi) after 2 days chilling in fridge, I backed it off to 10 psi for pouring as per my previous brew. It is very gassy with lots of bubbles in the beer line. I backed the pressure off to 5psi but still...

    Coopers Cultured Yeast...what A Gas!

Hi Pint of Lager Just to let you know regarding my concerns with my latest CPA brew. After 3 days of no activity in the brew and a reading of 1.020 I suddenly remembered that I had a friends fermenter that I borrowed. Just out of interest, I swapped his lid with mine and voila!!! away it...

Hey Pint of Lager, Im pretty sure the ingredients were mixed well. Ive just taken another reading and is still around 1020. I have checked the seal on the lid, airlock and seems to be ok. darren There is definitely a banana ester to it but not too bad. Just worried as to whether it will still be OK. Should I wait another few days to see if the SG comes down any more? If it doesnt what does this mean? barwee

    Coopers Cultured Yeast...what A Gas!

:o  I've just done an SG reading and it is still at 1020. There is no activity in the airlock and is sitting on about 17-18deg. Is there anything wrong? Did it ferment too quickly? Do I wait longer too see if the SG comes down? I hope it is still OK. Regards barwee

    Coopers Cultured Yeast...what A Gas!

:P :) Hi Brewers Well Ive just finished my first brew of CPA using Coopers Cultured Yeast and Enerjex's instructions and WOW did it go off. Compared to my previous batch using the kit yeast, this Cultured Yeast took off within 3 hours of pitching. Admittedly the pitching temp was a bit high...

Pitching Coopers Yeast Straight From Bottle.

 Hi Brewers, Ive just finished putting down my next batch of CPA. This time Ive cultured some yeast from a couple of stubbies as per Enerjex instructions and seemed to work well. Only time will tell now. However, I was wondering what with all the posts regarding culturing CPA yeast...

    Bleach Ratio For Sanitizing

    Long Bottle Brush Required.

Uncooked rice? What does that do.

    Long Bottle Brush Required.

I am trying to clean out the bottom of a 50l keg. It has a fair bit of crud still on the bottom even after 2 applications of keg cleaner. If I could get my hands on an extra long bottle brush with nylon filaments that would collapse when pushing it past the neck and the open out again would be...

    Maturation Time?

Thanks for the info. Glad to hear that I'm not alone on this subject. My brother has used Hallertau hops in his brew and it tasted beautiful. However he does live in Melbourne and I suspect that the water quality there could have some effect too!!
