    Beer Not Carbing

mate they are the right suggestions. dont shake the shit out of them though, roll them like you would a coopers pale ale before drinking (if you like your coopers pales like james bond). Perhaps turn them upside down and then back and put in a warm place. Also before doing that, check if there...

Plastic Kegs Are On The Way!

Hey Dubbo, It doesnt take the whole contenet, there is a inlet and pressure relief valve on the lid (see pics). MFS, this discussion came up in another thread that i was part of a few days ago. someone quoted the typical diffusion rate through plastic. It was something so little that over the...

Plastic Kegs Are On The Way!

They come in many shapes and sizes howevr can be awkward to clean coz of the small top but some fermenters are like that too. They cant be used with a standard coupling as the soda bulb coupling at the top is a unique fitting i think. They are good fridge size, but in winter here you dont need...

    100l Aluminum Pot, What Burner?

hey i have just bought one too. Havent tested it yet but got some good advice from pistol patch which i shall pass on.... here goes. He said that a nasa burner will shave about 10mins off the brew day at most but is noisy as hell. He suggested a 3 ring burner capable of a decent blue flame. I...

    Steeping Crystal Malt?

Hey mate, I would put in about 750g of DME in preference to the dextrose to increase the flavour characteristics and body. The dextrose will provide alcohol only. Also, i wouldnt steep crystal for a wheat beer. Crystal is better in ales, ie amber ale, IPA etc. Make sure you keep the temp about...

    Moving A Fermenting Brew...

I still try not to move them as its well documented that oxidation can = poor brews. but i have in the past doing it very carefully to minimise gulping and sloshing without impact. The best method seems to be the board under the fermenter, get a mate to help you is prob better still.

    Brew Kettles

hey all, thanks for the responses. I think the keg option would be great but buying or attaining a disused keg may be tough. Also i dont have angle grinders, MIG welders or oxi-torches to cut holes and invert bases. :P But if i was too, where is the best place to source a cheap keg? Also...

    Wheat Flour For Head Retention

tried caparils, didnt work. I even went as far as posting a topic about whether it was my water composition (water is super hard in London)? I think the wheat DME idea of goat's is worth a shot. As for the carapils, when i steeped it at about 60deg c for 20mins, i did an iodine test and it went...
